Gate with Lever Handle

Gate with inside lever Handle

Gate with Lever Handle Lock

Gate with Lever Handle Lock

This is a nice gate to an entrance to a building.  Weather it would comply with the fire regulations in the area I am not too sure.  At first glance it looks fairly insecure with only the centre lock, but it also has Top and bottom heavy duty bolts to lock securely into the ground and top frame.

Centre door lock

The lock in the centre of the gate has a knob outside and a lever handle on the inside.  The lever handle is hidden by the welded steel cage.  The cage is added to stop manipulation of the inside handle.

There are 2 heavy duty ADI Lockable Bolts securing the gate into the concrete.  There are also 2 Lockable Bolts on the top.  In the above photo only one bolt is locked.  Leaving only one bolt locked would seriously affect the security as only the centre knob/lever set would be locking the door.

High Security Bollard

Bollard with Lock

Bollard with Lock

This is a bollard used to stop people stealing cars.  They are pretty simple. You just turn the key and remove the entire bollard when you want to move your car.  This is one of the more secure bollards I have seen.

Bilock Bollard Lock

Bilock Bollard Lock

The lock used in this bollard is a BiLock Cam lock.  They offer a higher level of pick resistance then standard pin tumbler locks.  They have a U shaped key with 2 rows of pins.  They also have a hardened insert to make them harder to drill the lock.

Commercial Glass Door

This is a commercial Glass door with a Lockwood Swingbolt. The Lock has a fire escape lever handle on the inside for emergency exit.  On the bottom of the door is an ADI Lockable Bolt.  There is only a lockable bolt on one side of the door.  The fixed door is only secured with standard flush bolts.

Lockwood Exit Lock

This Lockwood Swing bolt lock has an emergency exit handle on the inside and an oval cylinder on the outside.  These locks can be manipulated from outside the door using a special manipulation tool.

Lockwood Cylinder

Both the Lockwood lock in the centre of the door and the Lockable bolt use the same type of cylinder with a standard C4 Keyway leaving little resistance to Lock picking and bumping.

ADI Lockable Bolt

ADI Lockable Bolt

The ADI Lockable Bolt is securing the swinging side of the doors only.  The fixed side of the doors is relying only on the flush bolts for securing the door.  The ADI Bolt and the Lockwood lock in centre of the door are keyed alike on the same key.

Double Commercial Roller Doors

Roller Door Security

Roller Doors

Roller Doors

These are Shop Front Roller doors.  They have a removable post in the middle that allows the shop opening to be unobstructed.  The standard doors come with a lock in the centre of each door with 2 arms locking at each side of the doors or in this case 1 would lock into the centre post.

roller Door Lock

roller Door Lock

These Roller Door locks are prone to wear. As they get older they do get less secure.  This is mainly due to the Diecast casing and parts that the lock is made from.

Roller Door Hasp

Roller Door Hasp with padlock

The doors are secured with one hasp and staple on each door.  The hasps have a padlock to lock them shut.  The padlock and shackle is exposed to the exterior of the door.  Padlocks are generally not recommended as a high security option due to their exposure to cutting tools.  There are various shackle guards available to stop the cutting of padlocks.

Double glass aluminium door with Lockwood swingbolt lock

Front Door Aluminium

Glass Aluminium Door

Glass Aluminium Door

This Double Glass Aluminium door has two Lockwood Swingbolt locks securing it.  It would (Should) also have flushbolts securing the fixed door.  The flushbolts are on the inside of the fixed door and can only be opened when the lockable door is open.

They have gone to the expense of fitting an extra Lockwood swingbolt lock to the door.  This lock fitted probably cost around $400.00.  Not sure if they went to the trouble of securing the fixed doors with something better then flushbolts.  It dosent appear so.

Lockwood Oval Cylinder

Lockwood Oval Cylinder

This cylinder is fitted with a restricted key system.  Seems to be lots of room inside this keyway for easy picking.  Lock has master keying numbers stamped on the face. (1.2)  Masterkeyed locks are generally easier to pick.

Glass door with 2 deadlocks

A glass door such as this has to be less secure then a solid door Right?

While glass can be made more secure by various methods, it is great for a shop owner to leave the glass in the door and windows clear so their merchandise can be easily seen.

Two Deadlocks are probably better then one?  The deadlocks on these doors are standard “C4″ keyway deadlocks.  They are probably keyed alike.
